Where we work

Our main office is in Wadi Saqra, Amman. We also have a branch in Syria, and professional cooperation agreements with law firms in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

Our story begins with the law office of Ahmad Fayez Al-Kattan, who began practising in Amman in 1979 and built a reputation for independence, precision and commitment to his clients.

Osama Al-Kattan & Co. carries that practice forward. We have kept its professional values and broadened our services to meet the needs of banks, companies and individuals in a changing legal and commercial environment.

Collection and enforcement are among our deepest areas of experience. For many years we have handled portfolios for banks and for telecom, energy, insurance and finance companies, from the first demand through to enforcement.

A dedicated unit for trademark registration and protection.

Reporting and follow-up

Periodic reports are usually provided monthly, or as agreed with the client, and a follow-up officer is assigned according to need, the nature of the files and the volume of work.

Founding partner

Osama has practised law since 2011. He focuses on recovering non-performing debt for banks and finance companies, and on commercial contracts, litigation and commercial arbitration.

Qualifications

  • LLB, University of Jordan, 2008.
  • Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration, International Academy of Mediation and Arbitration (IAMA), Cairo.

Memberships

  • Member, Jordan Bar Association.
  • Accredited arbitrator, International Academy of Mediation and Arbitration (IAMA), Cairo.
  • Accredited legal counsel to a number of banks and finance companies in Jordan.

Experience

  • Recovery of non-performing loans for individuals and companies, and of credit card and personal finance debt.
  • Handling enforcement files, including public auctions, and bringing shortfall claims where security or mortgages do not cover the loan.
  • Has advised a number of local and international banks and taken part in drafting and reviewing certain banking agreements.
  • Legal counsel to several companies on commercial contracts and on commercial and civil litigation.
  • Has been involved in commercial arbitration matters of a regional and international nature.
  • Negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, and corporate, insurance and energy matters, including unlawful electricity consumption cases.
